Mission Statement
Habitat for Humanity of Benzie County, in partnership with God and all people of goodwill, seeks to alleviate substandard housing in Benzie County. We will rehabilitate or build affordable, decent housing that will strengthen individuals, families, and neighborhoods through home ownership.

History
On September 1, 2008, Habitat for Humanity of Benzie County became Habitat for Humanity International’s newest local affiliate. Prior to this time, the Habitat work in Benzie county was as a task force associated with Habitat for Humanity, Grand Traverse Region. Habitat for Humanity of Benzie County joins other Habitat affiliates in Michigan and around the world in seeking to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness and to make decent homes a matter of conscience and action. Selected “partner” families contribute their own “sweat equity”, then purchase the homes with a a no-interest mortgage.
Donate/Volunteer
We want to serve more families by providing simple, decent places to live.
It takes about $60,000 for Habitat to build or rehabilitate a home in Benzie County. We already have proven support from our community, volunteers, donors, organizations and places of worship. Our partner families are hard-working, looking to achieve the dream of owning their own homes. Habitat for Humanity of Benzie County can provide many with that dream, but only with the generous support of our donors and volunteers.
